E: Safar-Harandi was admitted to the Science and Technology University in the field of civil engineering in 1973 and achieved MA degree from the Academy of Military Sciences in 1993.

C: He passed a course on strategic management in 1994. He was deputy commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps in Hormuzgan, Kerman and Sistan and Baluchestan provinces (1980-1983), head of IRGC political bureau (1984-1994) and a member of council to draw up the Islamic Republic News Agency's strategies (1993-1997). Saffar-Harandi also served as deputy managing director and editor-in-chief of Kayhan daily (1994-2005).
